Camera Usage

The Wasla mobile app may request access to your device camera for the following optional features:

  • Profile photos: Capture a profile picture directly from your device camera.
  • Document capture: Upload identity or employment documents by scanning them in-app.
  • Video introductions: Record short intros to enhance your candidate or company profile.
  • Video interviews: Participate in live or asynchronous video interview experiences.
  • QR scanning: Quickly join events or verify sessions with QR codes (if applicable).

Camera access is requested via your device’s operating system prompt and is never enabled without your consent. You can deny or revoke access at any time in your device settings.

What We Collect Through the Camera

  • Images and video you choose to capture and upload.
  • Associated metadata (e.g., timestamp); we do not collect precise geolocation unless you explicitly provide it elsewhere.

How We Use Camera Data

  • To display your profile photo or company branding.
  • To support identity and profile verification workflows.
  • To enable richer matching (e.g., video introductions) when you opt in.
  • To facilitate interviewing and event features when you participate.

We do not sell your images or videos. Camera content is processed only for the purposes you opt into.

Storage and Retention

Camera content you upload may be stored on our secure servers and encrypted in transit and at rest. We retain this data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the features you requested. You can delete uploaded content from within the app where supported, or by contacting us.

Third Parties

We may use vetted service providers (e.g., cloud storage, video processing, or identity verification) to process camera uploads solely on our behalf, under strict contractual obligations and security controls.

Your Choices and Controls

  • Permissions: Deny or revoke camera access anytime in your device settings.
  • Delete: Remove photos/videos you uploaded from your profile and settings where available.
  • Access/Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
  • Withdraw Consent: Stop using features that require the camera; we will cease related processing.
